2 Version of Chopin's "Valse Brilliante" in A Flat Major

This post is for Christopher ... currently learning the "Valse Brilliante" in A flat major by Chopin. The first is a very old recording of Alexander Brailowsky, the second is Lang Lang (Note: Lang Lang the very coveted Chopin prize at a very young age ... hear the difference in the interpretation?) As per our discussion on interpretation (RE: to tie or not to tie ??? that is the question :o),it's difficult to tell in the measures we were analyzing if they are 'tying' the bottom notes ... hmmmm ....listen closely and let me know what you think ...

Aside from the 'tied note issue', listen to the variances in rubato and tempo choices: which do you prefer?
